An increasing number of teens are turning their passions for video games into life-long careers with the help of the now popular game design schools. Apparently, the United States offers some of the best institutions for local and international students alike who are planning to get a degree in game making.

Foremost, a game design requires both creativity and technicality. For one thing, game developers need to imagine, plan, and then realize the product. While applicants neither need to be excellent artists nor computer geniuses, technological skills partnered with love for the industry are vital to success.

According to International Student, a lot of people are asking what courses are offered to game enthusiasts who want a professional job in the future. Knowledge in coding and rendering enables applicants to create their own franchises or fill in positions for an existing game development team. Some of the courses offered in America include 3D modeling, programming, software architecture, and image rendering.

Moreover, students are highly likely to take lectures in game history, computer theory, as well as introduction and principles of game development. Now, the top schools that offer the tech course include the University of Southern California (USC), University of Utah, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York University, and the Texas A&M University. Full Sail University in Florida and Becker College in Massachusetts also offer the in-demand program.

Per Forbes, USC currently sits at number one, moving one spot from last year's rankings. Rochester Institute of Technology (last year's #3) is now at second place. Unfortunately, the University of Utah falls to third place after being number one in 2016.

Lastly, the possible roles of these students after graduation are system designers, programmers, digital animators, game testers, and storyline editors. For USC, the starting salaries of their graduates are at a whopping $64,000. Impressively, some of these students did not work at a game studio because they opted to start their own firms.
