Google Nexus 2017 is defining its own bandwagon of controversies amid the lack of confirmation from Google and its resident insiders. First on the line is the cancellation of Nexus 7 X Andromeda OS deal. However, the report may sound disappointing, Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update is said to take over Andromeda as Nexus 7's official OS.

According to Android Central, Google is rolling out Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update to Nexus and Pixel phones starting April 3. The report has not specified which specific models will receive the said update and noted that the news remains unconfirmed coinciding the rumors that Nexus 7 is making its comeback.

Having Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update vis-à-vis the most recent Nexus 2017 speculations lead to further speculation that Google is cooking up something to alter the canceled merging with Andromeda OS, the hybrid Chromebook and Android OS. Back in 2016, Google's Head of Android Hiroshi Lockheimer addressed that Android and Chrome merger will not happen, Chrome Unboxed reported.

Amid the Andromeda OS blur, the possibilities of Nexus 7 2017 release remains strong since it could still operate under Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Since the Nexus 2017 is now tagged with Android Nougat, it is now expected to be announced during the April 3 rollout as hinted by Canadian VoLTE carrier Rogers.

If these rumors turn to be true, Google Nexus 2017 packed with Android 7.1.2 Nougat will have an incremental maintenance release focused on refinements on the unit and bug fixes and optimizations, together with a small number of enhancements.

Aside from the Android 7.1.2 Nougat, Google Nexus 2017 is reportedly debuting with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and sport a 7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. The next Nexus phone will have 6GB of RAM with 32GB onboard memory. In the end, this Nexus 2017 news remains speculations and it is best to wait until April 3 for the official announcement.
