Fans will finally get their hands on "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" this week. The highly anticipated game is launching alongside the Nintendo Switch. To further stoke gamers' excitement, Nintendo released a high-resolution map that reveals how big the game's scope is.

Check out the map on Game Rant. It doesn't showcase any legend, marking or border, but it proves that diversity is at the gameplay environment's forefront. The map also showed that the layout is balanced and the higher elevation areas are on the map's outer four corners.

The whole map of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" contains 120 grid squares (12 x 10 grid), with its playable area measuring approximately 80 squares. Some of the outer areas cannot be accessed, while the Great Plateau takes up less between one and one-and-a-half percent of the whole map.

A video from Arekkz attempted to measure how big the map is and how much time it would take to cover it. Players can walk from the map's northern side to the southern part in 40 minutes, and walking from east to west will take 33 minutes. That duration is only for when you go in a straight line without encountering any environmental obstacles or foes.

Nintendo confirmed that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is 12 times larger than 2006's "Twilight Princess." Of course, the upcoming game's massive space will be useless if it lacks from adventures and challenges.

According to Forbes, players will come across a sleeping giant in a misty lowland with slopes and ponds. It's possible that the monster is docile and unlike the game's other vicious creatures, though.

There's a tamed horse in the game, too. It was previously assumed that you can only get a horse in "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" by catching it in the wild, which can be done by sneaking up on it and situating yourself on its back as you soothe it.

The process must be repeated until the animal calms down and regards you as its traveling companion. However, it now appears that you can get a horse without taming it first by killing its owner.

In addition, bolts of lightning can kill you in the game if you're standing near a metal piece, which is a great conductor of electricity. "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" comes out on March 3, 2017 for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
