The Huawei Watch 2 was finally launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 last week. How does the wearable device compare to its biggest rival, the Apple Watch 2?

Huawei's latest smartwatch comes in two styles: a Classic and a Sporty model. Both versions have a ceramic bezel, press-friendly buttons and interchangeable watchbands with a standard 22mm system, Slash Gear reported.

The Huawei Watch 2 has a round face, as opposed to the Apple Watch 2's rectangular design. Apple's wearable, however, caters to both thick and slender wrists with a 42mm variant and a 38mm model. Huawei's device only has one -- and a bigger -- size, a 45mm, Macworld pointed out.

The classic version of the Huawei Watch 2 comes with a titanium gray leather strap, while the Sport style has various colors: concrete gray, carbon black and dynamic orange. The Apple Watch 2, on the other hand, offers numerous watchbands that will suit different tastes.

Probably the Huawei Watch 2's biggest feature is its 4G connectivity via SIM card, allowing users to receive and make calls without the need of being tethered to a smartphone. The Apple Watch 2 doesn't have 4G connectivity yet, so Huawei definitely wins in this aspect. Take note, however, that Huawei's 4G connectivity is only available in the dynamic orange and carbon black models.

Huawei boasted that its latest smartwatches are equipped with "more than 2 days usage" of power thanks to its 420mAh battery pack. If users want to conserve the device's battery, they can utilize the "Watch Mode" option that will shut off the device's features aside from the watchface and pedometer. "Watch Mode" will allow the wearable to last for 25 days on a single charge.

Monitoring heart rates is also a feat seen in the Huawei Watch 2, along with an IP68 resistance to water and dust. There's NFC for Android Pay, too, and a built-in GPS like the Apple Watch 2.

Huawei's wearable is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, while the two-core S2 or "System in Package" powers Apple's device. As for the screen resolution, Apple's smartwatch reigns superior with its Retina, OLED display (forged from Ion-X strengthened glass) with 1000 nits brightness. The Huawei Watch 2 lacks its rival's screen brightness even though it has a higher 390 x 390 resolution.

The Huawei Watch 2 will start selling at $350, while Apple Watch 2's standard model (the 38mm Sport) has a starting price of $269.
