Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced their decision to end their support for older Windows operating systems such as Windows 10 and Vista for some games. Old OS Users Need to Upgrade to Continue Playing Blizzard Hottest Games

Blizzard Entertainment has finally decided to drop the support for old OS like Windows 10 and Windows Vista. According to Bleeping Computer, representative of Blizzard said that games like World of Warcraft, Diablo II, StarCraft II, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm are not playable in the venerated Windows operating system anymore.

The decision has been propelled by the fact that almost hundred percent of the players of the above-mentioned games have upgraded their system to higher OS such as Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Accordingly, these operating systems are not susceptible to virus and more adoptable thus, they are highly recommended by Blizzard.

On the other hand, amidst the official announcement is a rumor that Blizzard might finally be supporting Linux. However, the game publisher seems to stand firm on their decision two years ago when they said no to the petition to bring Warcraft and other games to Linux-operated PCs.

To recall, most of modern Blizzard games do run in Wine (except for Overwatch) because it doesn't have OpenGL rendering pipelines. However, what the netizens did not know is that running games in Linux is more profitable because it doesn't require someone to pay just to play modern games such as Hearthstone, PC World reported.

Blizzard Denounces Trump's Muslim Ban

Blizzard Entertainment is one of those who join the army of opposing Trump's Muslim ban in the United States, joining other major tech and game industry leaders. Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in an e-mail that the executive order issued on Friday by the White House has affected few employees and families and emphasizing that prioritizing them is the company's goal thus, they heavily criticized new elected President's decision.
