Google is asking users to give feedbacks with regards to the design of its upcoming flagship device, the Pixel 2. The tech giant is ensuring that fans and loyalists will have the phone that suits their tastes and needs. There is no guarantee though that all feedbacks and wish-list may be integrated into the final design but the idea of consulting consumers is a good way to win potential customers.

Google has always been in control when it comes to the Pixel design and has left the Nexus brand to the OEMs. The Google Pixel 2's predecessor was a product of long labor by the design team working to balance aesthetics and performance. All the efforts paid off as the Pixel and the Pixel XL are considered to be one of the best, if not the best, smartphones in the market even when compared to A-listers like the iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7.

This time around for the Pixel 2, Google is asking for feedbacks from the Pixel User Community. Krishna Kumar, Google's product lead on the Pixel asks the community on what they hate or like in the Pixel phones and what they like to see improved in the future. When it comes to the overall look of the first iteration, the overall verdict was it was not that bad but could use some improvements.

The majority wants to see smaller bezels in the Google Pixel 2, which are noticeable in its predecessor. Others have also expressed dislike on the wedged-chassis, but this was more of a performance decision. The seemingly unbalanced phone where the topside is heavier than the bottom is designed so to allow the Google team to put in a bigger battery and avoid the common camera bump at the rear. This is also done to make the phone as thin as possible, wccftech has learned.

A large percentage of the community also wanted stereo speakers that are front-facing and the added feature of water resistance, Android Authority has learned. The latter could radically alter the look of the Pixel 2 which may need to ditch the screws of the first one that contributed to its durability. To make a phone water resistant means using a non-removable battery with the front and back panels glued to ward off water seepage.

Other notable feedback includes adding an iris scanner and lowering the price. Some also appealed to Google to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack in the Pixel 2 that Apple has unceremoniously removed. For other feedback, users are asked to head on to the dedicated website which can be accessed here.
