Android Nougat update for Xperia Phones

Sony has rolled out the latest Android firmware to a few of its Xperia handsets. Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z5 have reportedly received the update, according to The Verge.

For Z5 Premium, the update makes the phone even more powerful than it already is. As the first smartphone in the world that sports a 4K display, the flagship offers a 5.5-inch display and 23 MP camera. It packs a huge battery, 3430 mAh, and 3 GB RAM coupled with 32 GB internal storage on board.  

The initial rollout supposedly happened in January but Sony pulled back the firmware after finding a few bugs along with the update. Three weeks after it's fixed, the company officially announced once again that Android 7.0 Nougat is ready for the said devices with version number 32.3.A.0.376.

The update should bring the Nougat goodness to Xperia handsets but there has been a report claiming that a few of camera features are not available, according to Android Headlines. The update is missing Vulkan and manual control mode for the camera.

However, users can expect better performance compared to when the device runs on Android Marshmallow. Other essential features such as split-screen mode and battery saving. Android 7.0 Nougat has a speedy performance and new notification orders including quick reply option. Plus, a set of new emojis.

Android Nougat for Sony Xperia Z5, Z4 and Z3 Plus are released via OTA with a space of 1.2GB is required. Users can check in the Settings menu for manual update.
