The latest version of the ubiquitous Google Chrome browser, the Chrome 56 is now much faster and more secure than previous versions. In addition to the desktop version for the browser, Chrome for iOS is also receiving some new update for this week. But Google Gmail will end support for the older versions of the browser, which include Chrome 53 and below versions.

Chrome for iOS Gets QR Code And Barcode Scanner Functionalities

According to TNI, the Google Chrome for iOS is getting some big update this week, which includes a Chrome QR Code and Bar Scanner.The latest update offers an inbuilt scanning functionality, where users can access the features t with 3D Touch on the app's icon, or can also opt for a search for QR in the spotlight.

With the new Chrome QR code app, iOS users will now have a better barcode scanner. For now, this update is available only on iPhones, but there's also plans for the Android devices.

Previously, the Apple iOS-powered devices didn't support QR scanning feature in the camera, and this is the whole reason why the crowd will still need a separate QR scanning app.

Gmail To End Support For Chrome 53 Versions And Below

In the latest Google Chrome announcement, Google said it would be discontinuing Gmail support for Chrome 53 and older versions below. Currently, Google Gmail still work on older versions of the Google Chrome web browser, however, specific features, bug fixes, and security updates will no longer available to the users unless they upgraded to the latest version of the browser.

According to Google, Google Gmail will still continue to work on older versions of Chrome through the end of 2017. Google is hoping that this big announcement will help and finally encourage people to upgrade to the latest version of the Google Chrome browser.
