The wait for the "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4's Road to Boruto" expansion is over. The DLC is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The DLC introduces a new story based on the 2015 animated flick, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," and showcases cinematic boss battles and the thrilling gameplay already seen in past "Naruto Shippuden" titles. The expansion also added new modes and costumes that are sure to delight fans.

PS4 and Xbox One players can purchase a copy of the DLC for $49.99, with STEAM offering it for $50.02. Digital copies cost $19.99 on PS4, Xbox One and STEAM.

Eric Hartness, the vice president of marketing for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., said that the expansion's new adventure mode and characters "offer an exciting conclusion" to the "Naruto Shippuden" anime series, BioGamer Girl Magazine reported.

Gamers play as Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Hinata and the seventh Hokage of Hidden Leaf Village a.k.a. Naruto Uzumaki. Other new characters include Mitsuki, Sarada Uchiha, Wandering Sasuke, Seventh Hokage Naruto and Mecha Naruto. All of them are equipped with new moves and Hidden Techniques.

The story of the expansion happens several years after the conclusion of "Naruto Shippuden." Naruto and Boruto have a strained father-and-son relationship, mainly because of the former's unwavering commitment as a Hokage or the village leader.

Boruto doesn't favor of his father's absence and as revenge, he seeks the mentorship of Sasuke, Naruto's closest rival. Sasuke has been traveling the world.

A trailer for "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4's Road to Boruto" was released last month. The clip showcased Boruto using the water-based Kote Science Ninja Weapon.

The DLC opens new Hidden Leaf Village areas that players can explore to their heart's content. A fight between Sasuke and Kinshiki was included, too.

According to Gamereactor UK, "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4's Road to Boruto" satisfies with fun and action-heavy battle scenes, but the secondary missions are at times bland. The story missions, meanwhile, are similar to the main game's structure. Basically, some elements in the DLC are repetitive of the main title.

A PC patch was released alongside the "Road to Boruto" expansion. "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" players on PC can now enjoy the game at 60fps, along with an eight-player Endless mode and online Spectator Mode, Siliconera reported.
