It appears that a first look on the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus has been leaked on the internet. The alleged renders reported by a Chinese website showed the latter device sporting an iris scanner and a new gold-colored variant.

The image showed the smartphone carrying an extra sensor on its back, and there are strong suspicions that it is the iris scanner, GSM Arena reported from a Chinese news outlet. The device comes with a curved display, with a Home key visible below the screen.

It's confusing what the Home button's function is going to be, given that a fingerprint scanner is already seen on the back of the device. It's possible that the Home key is just a Home button and it doesn't double as a fingerprint scanner.

The render showed that the smartphone is equipped with a 12-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies, Phone Arena reported. Its laser-assist sensor for autofocus is wrapped in a ring-flash presumably to improve performance.

The Huawei P10 Plus will reportedly be powered by the company's Kirin 965 64-bit octa-core processor, with Android Nougat-based Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 serving as its operating system. The handset has two RAM and internal storage options -- a 6 GB and 128 GB model and an 8 GB and 256 GB memory variant. Those options are expandable via microSD if you want a bigger storage for your files.

The device will be equipped with a 3,650 mAh battery and aside from the new gold-colored model, it is also said to ship in green and purple variants. Check out the handset's appearance below.

Huawei's upcoming smartphones are expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona by the end of this month. The devices are said to be the priciest P-series handsets to date, with the Huawei P10 projected to start selling at $699.

The Huawei P10 Plus is expected to be more expensive than Huawei's Mate 9, which has a starting price point of $886, according to a separate report from GSM Arena. An official announcement about these products' pricing, however, is yet to be had. Fortunately, you only have to wait a few more weeks for that.
