Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously announced the Autopilot update for all HW2 cars but was delayed, and now, the promised update has started rolling out. Check out the details on how to apply the update on the vehicle.

Tesla has been working on the update for months and now it has finally arrived and is rolling out to HW2 self-driving capable cars, Model X and Model S cars that have autopilot enabled. However, note that the application of the latest update is not an easy job. The Autopilot update features the following as per Engadget.

•  Autosteer - for better navigation at the triky roads
•  Smart Summon - works better on curved driveways
•  Automatic Lane change - this feature can be of help in getting around slow moving traffic on the highway.

The application of the update can only be done by Tesla technicians because there are some cars that would require an adjustment of the camera angles. This will ensure the Autosteer will work properly as expected. However, the features included in the update is not active right away as it needs to be activated for the newer Tesla car models. This is to make sure that everything that's available on the update of the older models will be the same with the newer models.

Apart from the Autopilot update for the HW2 model of Tesla cars, there is one more exciting feature and that is the Forward Collision Warning (FCW). A safety feature that warns drivers alerting them at once when the car is approaching a collision but is totally different from the Automatic Emergency Braking (EAB) and is not part of the update, Slashgear reported.

Meanwhile, those who are good enough with the technology of the Tesla cars, the update is also installed over-the-air so they can have it accessed right away and apply on their vehicles.
