Motorola is gearing up for something big at MWC 2017.

The Mobile World Congress is still a month away but Motorola already sent out invitations to "Hello Moto" event on Feb. 26. As of this moment, the details are sparse but a press event should be a good place to announce something new - and big.

There were leaks and reports on Moto G5 but not until Motorola had sent out the invitations did the speculations become more viral. CNET has learned that the new Moto Phone could belong to the G-series and there may be a few Mods for Moto Z being showcased during the February event.

Will Lenovo introduce Moto G5 at MWC 2017?

The successor of Moto G4 could be a 5.5-inch smartphone with Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood. Previously leaked information suggests a 4 GB RAM on board coupled with either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage.

The mid-ranger Moto G5 might pack 16 MP rear camera and 5 MP sensor for the front-facing camera. It is expected to have Android Nougat pre-installed and a battery capacity of 3,080 mAh.

These specs are not shining stars and the 16 GB model seems a bit outdated with the lack of fingerprint sensor, according to BGR. However, there are a few notable differences in G5 Plus variant such as bigger battery (3,500 mAh), better selfie camera (8 MP) and a fingerprint scanner.

How about Moto Mods?

Several sites have speculated that Lenovo may introduce new Moto Mods at MWC. Droid-Life noted last year that Motorola has promised to introduce more Mods in 2017. Hence, tech crowds can see whether or not, Lenovo will live up to its commitment with modularity for the devices - in the world's largest mobile exhibition next month.
