Kate Beckinsale got her big break in the movie "Much Ado About Nothing" while still studying at the University of Oxford. Now, the actress is known for her role as Selene in the science fiction franchise "Underworld."

Yesterday, actress Kate Beckinsale sat down for an interview with "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert for some scintillating discussion about the Instagram pictures of her cat and the funny thing she does with it, the corset she wears during the "Underworld" movie series and the fraternity type party she attended during New Year's Eve. However, as much as they were all delicious topics, Colbert wanted to listen to the 43 year old celebrity speak in Russian.

Stephen Colbert had a hard time trying to get the accent and intonation right but Beckinsale was all calm during the whole process. Colbert's producer had already prepared the cards for the show. The cards had a list of phrases that Beckinsale needed to say on the show in Russian. Kate Beckinsale translated phrases like "No, I will not give the WiFi password" and more, as reported by Yahoo.

At a young age, she was schooled at Godolphin and Latymer School for girls in West London. She was already into acting at that time and involved herself in theaters and workshops. It was during her academic years at Oxford University that she learned how to speak in Russian. She also learned French. Victoria Coren describes her as a very charming woman and learned that she was involved in the Oxford University Dramatic Society, as reported by The Guardian. Because Beckinsale took Modern Languages at Oxford, she spent her third year of university abroad to study in Paris.

Kate Beckinsale is currently making her rounds promoting her latest movie "Underworld: Blood Wars." It is the fifth installment in the "Underworld" series which features her and actor Theo James.
