World leader in 3G and next-generation mobile technologies Qualcomm is giving details to its high-end SoC Snapdragon 835 to its customers and traders at CES, this week. It boasts the company's first mobile platform commercially manufactured using the 10 nm FinFet process node, which promises world-class performance, efficiency and seemingly endless battery life.

With Snapdragon 835 processor it now supports next-generation entertainment experiences and connected cloud services for premium-tier consumers, Qualcomm reported. It also supports enterprise devices, including smartphones, VR/AR head-mounted displays, IP cameras, tablets, mobile PCs and other devices running a variety of OS's including Android and Windows 10 with support for legacy Win 32 apps.

Machine learning and image processing are better enhanced now with its improved processing power and performance supported with the new Qualcomm Kryo 280 CPU and Qualcomm Hexagon 682 DSP, which includes support for Tensor Flow and Halide. Snapdragon 835 also includes substantial enhancements to Qualcomm Adreno visual processing subsystem, including the new Adreno 540 GPU and Qualcomm Spectra 180 image sensor processor for next-generation camera capabilities.

The company emphasized that the new flagship Snapdragon processor is designed to meet the demanding requirements of mobile virtual reality and ubiquitous connectivity while supporting a variety of thin and light mobile designs. The technology integration in Snapdragon 835 improves immersive experiences as well as supports superior battery life.

Infact, battery life is one of the tentpole features of the Snapdragon 835, with Qualcomm claiming at least a day's worth of talking, over five days of music playback, more than seven hours of 4K video streaming, and over three hours of 4K video capture, Android Central reported. Not only it brags about its X16 LTE modem, which gives superb download speeds that go up to one giga bit per second but also its Category 13 modem that lets one upload at 150MB per second.

 Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 indeed is the highest of the high-end SoCs today and technologies like this is what makes CES 2017 in Las Vegas exciting and worth visiting.
