DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer and president Geoff Johns recently confirmed on his Twitter account that Queen Mera will make her big screen debut in "Justice League." She is the wife of Aquaman who is one of the members of the group.

According to Comic Book, Queen Mera made several appearances in the TV series, "Smallville" and "Justice League" will be her first movie. Then she will be seen again in "Aquaman." She is known in the comic books as the Queen of Dimension Aqua and twin sister to Hila.

In a Counsel & Heal report, Elena Satine played Queen Mera in one of the episodes of "Smallville." For "Justice League," however, the role landed on Amber Heard who grabbed tabloid headlines after divorcing celebrity Johnny Depp.

"Justice League" follows Batman and Wonder Woman recruiting a group of people with special powers to join them in a dangerous mission. The trailer suggests they recruit Cyborg, The Flash, Aquaman and a resurrected Kal-El. They face antagonists they never thought they would encounter, according to a Cinema Blend report.

"Justice League" stars Amy Adas as Lois Lane, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Queen Mera, J.K. Simmons as Commisioner Gordon, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jessse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Henry Cavill as Superman and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko. "Batman v Superman" director Zack Snyder directed and wrote the script along with Chris Terrio for the new DC movie. It is scheduled to show in cinemas on Nov. 17.

Meanwhile, a sequel to "Justice League" has already been announced and is scheduled to be shown in cinemas in 2019. It is not known who among the current heroes would return to reprise their roles.
