Altus started working on a new fantasy RPG Project Re Fantasy into its 2017 games. The works progressed fast enough to finish a Concept Video for "A Fool's Journey Begins." Altus partnered with Studio Zero to put the content on their official website.

Altus shared on its Project Re Fantasy website its desire to present a real journey to their consumers around the world. It added that Altus works are intentionally done to go against the trend.

ATLUS and Persona 5 Director Katsura Hasino said in a statement that their Project Re Fantasy team is taking this goal seriously. He emphasized that they care about creating the details expected by the people who support ATLUS games and home console games.

Meanwhile, Niche Gamer blogged that Hasino admitted that their team is actually uncertain on what game platform this project would fit in. And Project Re Fantasy could take a longer time before it is officially launched. Meanwhile, the director promised to work hard for this project.

Project Re Fantasy Gameplay

According to Gematsu, this project is still in the early stages of its development, but it is quite clear that it will be totally different from the SMT and Persona series. The gameplay and direction are taken aback to early beginnings of Altus where the Japanese games industry began with fantasy role-playing games.

Internal Studio 0

Altus is moving away from Shin Megami Tensei and Persona to create a new path for its upcoming games. This 2017, the studio will be working on its latest project to match up to its achievement in Persona 5, Catherine, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, and other great contents.

The move started by putting up a new internal studio by the name of Studio 0. The name and its logo symbolize the story of its creation. The number 0 is known to be the "Fool" arcana for tarot cards. This is the void where all other things begin, Gematsu added.
