The world mourns the passing Carrie Fisher, the actress best known for playing Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars film franchise.

Time reported that a family spokesperson confirmed the demise of the 60-year-old Fisher last Tuesday. She suffered a cardiac arrest while flying to Los Angeles from London last December 23.

More than her iconic role, Carrie also took on other projects and writing. Here are some things about the life and career of Ms. Fisher from Business Insider:

Carrie is survived by her mother, screen legend Debbie Reynolds, her daughter Billie Lourd and a beloved French bulldog, Gary.
