Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, Google's new flagship smartphones, are said to be in serious trouble. The Google-built premiums devices are reported to have software issues.

According to 9to5 Google, a growing number of Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners are reporting serious software issues that involve the Google-built hardware freezing up for a few seconds to a few minutes, for no apparent reason.

At this time, it's still unclear what caused Pixel's freezing issue, although some users in Google Product Forums have concluded that it's the third-party app Life360 "Family Locator - GPS Tracker" was the source of the freezing issue. Some users suggest that uninstalling this GPS tracker app would resolve the freezing problems. Other Pixel users have reported that restoring their Google Pixel device to factory defaults and only using Google's default mobile apps will keep the freezing problem from surfacing.

Many have managed to eliminate the freezing problem by uninstalling the tracker app, though this sounds unpopular for most since many of them considered it as an essential tool for keeping close watch of their kids and family members.

Google is well-known in the tech circle for its innovative software products, namely Android, Gmail, YouTube, Google Search and more. Google is virtually omnipresent and is now part of most peoples' lives. Unfortunately, Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones do not live up to this reputation at all. It's going to other direction, possibly, heading to trouble.

The latest issue might be a combination of both software and hardware, according to Android Police. But the exact nature of the problem remains elusive making it nearly impossible to come up with an immediate solution. All users know about the Google Pixel issue is that the handsets would suddenly freeze and become unusable for no apparent reason. The freezing problem is said to last from a few seconds to a few minutes.

Google is currently working hard to address the freezing issues. Google seems to be aware of the Google Pixel issue and replying to at least some direct support requests. Users having this kind of issue could contact Google support team directly.
