Huawei Mate 9 Specs Review

Huawei Mate 9 packs a large display of 5.9 inches but the phone is surprisingly light and thin. It's got Android Nougat pre-installed with Kirin 960 under the hood. The 4GB RAM is paired with 64 GB of internal storage.

Huawei Mate 9 has dual-lens camera 20MP and 12 MP Leica optics loaded with features such as OIS, dual LED flash and 2x zoom. There is a fingerprint scanner, USB type C port and stereo speaker. The battery packs 4,000 mAh capacity with fast-charging feature.

The premium handset is reportedly getting a new color variant, Obsidian Black, as told by GSM Arena.

Huawei Mate 9 Review: DxOMark Test Shows Great Camera Specs

DxOMark has finished testing Huawei Mate 9 and it found that the optics capture greatly in terms of exposure and details. The score shows 85/100 - a result on par with LG V20 and just 4 points lower than Google Pixel's camera. Android Authority has learned that Huawei Mate 9 is praised due to the 'nice and accurate white balance' and it shows an excellent quality for a mobile camera.

Albeit the excellent score, Engadget noticed a poor image quality when taken in low light condition but given the low pricing, Huawei Mate 9 could be a good choice than its premium rivals. 

Compared to the P9 and its predecessor Mate 8, Huawei has equipped Mate 9 with more advanced hardware that's able to put it at the same level of Google Pixel, LG V20 and Samsung Galaxy S7.

Huawei Mate 9 US Release Imminent

The handset is revealed on Dec. 25 in China and there is a huge possibility that the device will be available in the United States in January 2017.
