The Apple iOS 10.2 is reportedly introducing the "30 percent battery bug" to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus devices, which suddenly shut off when the battery level hits the 30 percent mark. However, Apple now includes in the latest update a hidden battery diagnostic tool and release the iOS 10.2.1 for public beta testing, which have been reported to improve battery performance.

The Apple iOS 10.2 is the most recent OS version of Apple for its iPhone, iPad and iPod devices. In most instances, the Cupertino giant stops older versions, a week or two after the release of the new one. However, the latest release was reported to introduce new problems or fail to fix old ones.

Previous reports reveal that Apple stopped signing the iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1 update because of popular Italian hacker Luca Todesco's Yalu iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak. However, reports also say that iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1 are actually the first ones to introduce the "30 percent battery bug" to the iPhone 6, causing the phone to shut down when battery is at 30 percent according to Forbes.

Hence, Apple devices may only have the apple iOS 10.2, which also comes with a TV app for US devices only, which enables a new and enhanced experience of managing TV shows. It also comes with more detailed and varied emojis along with stability patches and bug fixes.

However, the Apple iOS 10.2 has also introduced the "30 percent battery bug" to previously unaffected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus devices. Though Apple acknowledged the Apple iOS 10.2 problem, it insists that it only affects a few people and that there are no reports that other models also suffer from the same bug.

This is contradicted by the 62-page thread at the Apple Official Support Community forum where various users have experienced battery issues with one user experiencing random glitches like battery level freezing into a particular number even when playing "Pokémon Go." Incidentally, the bug is reported to spare the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7s Plus.

Apple included in the Apple iOS 10.2 update a hidden battery diagnostics tool to collect data for Apple to fix in future updates. Moreover, Apple offers the iOS 10.2.1 beta for public testing where participants have reported of improved battery performance among other features like maintenance and cleaning through bug fixes according to Apple Insider.
