It seems that fans have been waiting all year for any news about the anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 getting released. Previous rumors were suggesting that the third season of the franchise will be aired before the year ends. However, as the year itself winds up in just a few weeks, new rumors have now surfaced stating that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 might be airing in March of 2017. On top of that, some sources are hinting that a new ghoul investigator will be making an appearance, as well.

It was recently reported that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 was intended to be aired this year but was delayed and moved to a 2017 release date, Latin Post learned. It was stated therein that the delay was due to a lack of material to come up with a new season.

It was further stated that the anime series has caught up with the franchise's manga series, which posed as a problem of releasing "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 on time. The source highlighted on the fact that the creators wanted to keep the anime series in cannon and in keeping with the manga.

On top of this, it was also mentioned that production on "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 was handed over to Madhouse Entertainment from Pierrot Studio, which could have contributed to the season's delay.

There's also a rumor suggesting that fans expecting the release of "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 might see the appearance of a new ghoul investigator, named Haise Sasaki. Fans of the franchise's manga series will already know that this is the same person as Ken Kaneki, who assumed the new identity after succumbing to memory problems.

In other news, it was also rumored that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3, albeit the threat of supposedly being cancelled, was hinted to be released sometime in March of 2017, Opptrends noted.

It was speculated by the source that the reason why "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 was pushed back was also due to some complications among the production team. Despite that a few episodes are already prepped up for airing, it was said that there still isn't enough to complete the whole season.
