Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal as Wilson Fisk a.k.a Kingpin is one of the greatest performances from a villain in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even with his brief appearance in "Daredevil" Season 2, he still managed to send chills down viewers' spines.

Kingpin was the primary villain in "Daredevil" Season 1 and he made a surprise appearance in the sophomore season, albeit short. With Daredevil taking part in the Avengers-esque "Marvel's The Defenders" there are a lot of excited rumblings about Kingpin's potential involvement in the series.

When asked if D'Onofrio will reprise his role in "Marvel's The Defenders," the actor answered in the negative. "No chance," the actor wrote on his Twitter account. D'Onofrio also denied previous rumors about his appearance in "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

Kingpin is originally a foe to Spider-Man, having debuted in "The Amazing Spider-Man #50." He later transitioned into being a primary villain for Daredevil and sometimes the Punisher. One of the many reasons why it would be impossible for D'Onofrio to star in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is that it is under Sony, while "Daredevil" is Marvel property. Granting that Sony and Marvel now have friendly relations, still the Marvel movies are not connected to the series.

"Marvel's The Defenders" may not have Kingpin as one of its villains, but it has secured Sigourney Weaver as the villain to the superheroes. Her involvement was revealed at the New York Comic Con where Weaver joined "The Defenders" cast on stage, Deadline reported.

Details of Weaver's role remain top secret, but there are speculations as to which villain she might play. Most theories suggest that Isabella Gnucci a.k.a Ma Gnucci might be the role given to Weaver. Given that a lot of the villains on Netflix's corner of the MCU are mob bosses such as Kingpin and Cottonmouth, Ma Gnucci would fit the mold.

Other characters being mentioned as Weaver's "The Defenders" role includes Morgan le Fay, Headhunter, Monica Rappacini and Beast of the Hand. The latter would already have a connection to "Daredevil" since the Hand was introduced in the later part of the second season.
