Christmas came early for this Cleveland school. Andrew Hawkins and the Cleveland Browns visited the Cleveland College preparatory school with Christmas presents.

For Andrew Hawkins, he remembered how tough it was when he was a young boy. He decided that it should not be that way for these kids. He recalls being raised by his mother with other kids in the house. He detailed how his mom put all of them through private schools, as reported by Pro Football Weekly.

According to Andrew Hawkins, his mom would work on Christmas eve to make ends meet, as reported by the Cleveland Browns. For this football player, Christmases were not always the best as she wanted them to be for her kids. But Hawkins recalls one time when an organization knocked on their door and brought Christmas gifts.

This inspired him to do the same and he even enlisted the help of his Cleveland Brown team mates to do the same. For the athlete, he is now in a position where he can do the same thing for other kids. Ready to give out Christmas presents, Hawkins and his team members, staff and even Cleveland police chief Calvin Williams and fellow CPD officers organized the Andrew Hawkins' Christmas Takeover.

Cleveland College Preparatory school kids were in for a surprise. Over three hundred students and teachers spent Tuesday afternoon going through tons of gifts and Christmas presents. In addition, they also awarded $10,000 to fund new technology for the school.

This is the third annual Andrew Hawkins' Christmas Takeover event. The Browns veteran receiver wanted to do something really special. And the school's principal, Phillip Penn agrees. Penn explains that the school is part of a district where the enrollment is measured to have a 95 percent rate of those coming from the economically disadvantaged group.

Aside from pro Andrew Hawkins, quarterback Josh McCown was also in attendance, as well as Joe Thomas, Ed Raynolds II, Cody Parkey, Rashard Higgins, Jonathan Cooper and Ricardo Louis.
