A new "Ace Combat 7" gameplay has been released by Bandai Namco wherein a six-minute clip on PlayStation VR mode shows just how realistic and impressive the new game will be. Moreover, the whole new different game for non-VR mode is said to be half complete with a release date due in 2017.

Bandai Namco released the first footage of the "Ace Combat 7" at the Thank You Festival at the Korean International Exhibition Center in Goyang, South Korea. The footage featured the special PlayStation VR mode in a six-minute off-screen footage.

The footage reveals a cockpit scene of an F-104 before and after take-off. The visuals were impressive and very realistic, which could explain why Bandai Namco opted to have the "Ace Combat 7" with two different story lines for the non-VR and VR modes.

Previously, Bandai Namco was working on the "Ace Combat 7" with the intent of featuring a light VR mode, but the approach opened up opportunities for a full VR since the game itself have mostly cockpit scenes. It seems a logical step for the developers to offer two distinct gameplay for the two platforms, Gematsu has learned.

"Ace Combat 7" will come to PlayStation VR sometime in 2017. In the meantime, the "Ace Combat 7" update reveals that the successor to the well-loved "Ace Combat 5" is now half complete and will soon be released also in 2017.

A couple of weeks ago, Bandai Namco also released a clip on the latest "Ace Combat 7," which was received with heavy anticipation by fans of the game. After a year of no solid updates on the game, fans of the "Ace Combat" series believed that a release may be far-off, but many were happy to know that the game is still alive and looking impressive.

The visuals are again stunning, right to the moisture drops on the cockpit and there will also be many references to the previous games, particularly the fourth and fifth installment according to Forbes. The "Ace Combat 7" is intended to delight its loyal fans by taking elements from previous games, but also to entice new ones with a good storyline and great visuals.
