Seamless, snappy and fast, Oppo R9 or F1 Plus in some countries is making the rounds because of its premium look and feel. Reviews and comments suggested that it is about it being like an iPhone that probably seizes the interest of the many, however, its inferior performance and capabilities does not actually measure up as a must-get phone, also disappoints some.

Oppo R9 unabashedly emulated some aspects of the user interface of iPhone 6S, it even blatantly rips off iPhone layout icons when opening the camera app, even more so it employs the same "slide your finger across the screen to change mode" feature as iOS, however, its lack of originality failed to fully capture the charm of Apple's premium phone, CNET reported.

Although, Oppo R9 highlighted its 16 MP rear camera prowess, which they claimed can capture life as it happens, some negative remarks have also been posted in some review sites claiming that it failed to have a slow-motion function in its camera and is not actually suitable for games as it has a slow processing speed when it comes to mobile games.

However, specifications of its rear camera seems to be impressive as the center of the Oppo R9 camera is the all-new Sony IMX 398 sensor, a customized 1/2.8 inch sensor that Sony developed exclusively for OPPO. With this sensor and an extra-wide F1.7 aperture, the R9's rear camera offers phenomenal focusing speed, noise reduction and low-light performance, allowing users to snap breathtakingly clear and beautiful images at a moment's notice, Oppo website described.

Aside from that, the company also boasted its industry-leading VOOC Flash Charge, that sports a 3, 010 mAh battery. Oppo also used a cutting-edge power-saving optimizations, intelligently managing a user's favorite applications to make sure they're ready when they're needed and not eating power when they're not. It claimed a five-minute charging and two hours talking time.

For Oppo R9's key features, GSMarena reports that it has a thin and light metal body with "six string" antenna lines, a 5.5" 1080p AMOLED with 401 ppi pixel density, 2.5D Gorilla Glass, ColorOS V3.0.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a very quick and accurate fingerprint reader in the home button, Snapdragon 625 chipset, octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU: Andreno 506 GPU: 4GB RAM, and an active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic.

However, main shortcomings about this device also points to other chipsets in the market that are faster, it's thin and light claim of its design spoils the great build quality, and tech bloggers has yet to see an upgrade of the phone, though it's a little bleak as of the moment.
