One nasty rumor that surfaced yesterday saying there will be no iPhone 8 for 2017. Apple will come out instead with revamped versions iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s and, utilize A11 chips, and it will come with a new color too, red.

So many speculations and rumors about the coming iPhone 8 ranging from its aesthetics, its tech specs, its variants, and the way it charges have already came out. The bold rumor according to MacOtakara contradicts everything already said and speculated about the iPhone 8.

The rumor claims a supplier for iPhone in Taiwan says Apple will release updated versions, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus in 2017 instead of the iPhone 8. The claim says the basic design will be the same with the only notable change to it would be its CPU employing the new A11, no wireless charging, no glass chassis. Additionally, it might add red to its color line up alongside rose gold, gold, silver, matte black, and jet black according to GSMArena.

Taking into account the iPhone 7 handset was not a major update aside from minor tweaks in exteriors, powering it with an A10, and camera improvements, it was still not revolutionary. Looking at it from a different perspective, Apple's iPhone is coming up to its 10^th year since it rolled out its first iPhone. It would be highly improbable Apple will be dishing out a rehashed version of its moneymaker on its big 10^th instead of coming up with the anticipated iPhone 8.

Furthermore, most of the earlier rumors about the iPhone 8 come from KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo who has a track record of being deathly accurate with his predictions of Apple products. Earlier reports indicate Kuo expects a huge design overhaul for iPhone 2017.

Citing the radical rumor coming from an unnamed supplier in Taiwan that made its way to Japan, and completely trashing everything we've heard and read about iPhone 8 so far, ingesting just a pinch of salt on this one might be too minuscule.
