The X-Men franchise is getting some new sign of life and buzz. A new report from Le Journal de Montreal has just revealed that a new movie in the X-Men franchise will start production next May in Montreal, with director Josh Boone dropping a hint that the X-Men franchise will have the "New Mutants" movie.

As mentioned also by GameSpot, the new report reveals that 20th Century Fox will return to Montreal for an unspecified film project, after shooting the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "X-Men: Apocalypse" in the Canadian City.

In a recent interview with Michel Trudel, President of MELS Studios, Trudel has just confirmed that the mysterious production will be shot in Montreal, Canada over the course of several months. The production team will start shooting in May and will occupy MELS studios for several months.Trudel also added that the film producer (20th Century Fox) has also explored other location options before making any decision on the on the Montreal site.

As reported by MovieWeb, the new "New Mutants" movie is expected to be directed by Josh Boone ("The Fault in our Stars"). No cast members have been announced yet, although director Josh Boone has teased recently an Instagram post, showing that the new movie will include characters such as Magik, Cannonball, Sunspot, Warlock and Wolfsbane, and Dani Moonstar.

There also some reports that some young stars are joining the X-Men production. These include Anya-Taylor Joy ("The Witch"), Maisie Williams ("Game of Thrones"), and Nat Wolff ("The Fault in our Stars"). In addition, the reports also claimed that X-Men star Alexandra Shipp will return as Storm, with Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler) also being eyed to return.

Fox has not yet confirmed the release date for this upcoming movie, but according to sources familiar with the story, the next "Untitled Marvel-Fox movie" will hit the big screen on March 2, 2018.
