Ubisoft this week announced that there will be a beta version for the company's upcoming open-world tactical shooter "Ghost Recon: Wildlands." Gamers can sign up for the beta version of the open-world military shooter on Ubisoft's official website, though the developer did not comment on how it will select participants.

As reported earlier by GameSpot, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has announced earlier that the company will have multiple beta version prior to the game's official release. Ubisoft also added that if the gamers missed this coming beta, there will be another open beta to join, which will start next year.

In signing up for the open beta version of the open tactical shooter, players will need to have their Ubisoft, Facebook, PSN, and Xbox Live accounts ready. After that, they can visit the Ghost Recon website, sign up and select the platform of their choice. Once completed, the user will receive an email shortly, informing users if they been selected in the beta version. However, Ubisoft has not yet confirmed the start date for the beta release.

"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is an open world tactical shooter game utilizing a third person perspective. Developed by Ubisoft, the game will be the tenth installment in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon game series. It also the first Ghost Recon game to feature an open world environment, which will include a wide variety of environments such as forests, salt flats, deserts, and mountains. It will be the largest military shooter game Ubisoft has ever made and will be playable in single-player or in four-player co-op.

The game is set in a corrupted and drug cartel-controlled Bolivia, which has become increasingly unstable as the Santa Blanca drug cartel gains more powerful to the point where Bolivia has become the center of the world drug trades. According to the developer, the rise in power of the Santa Blanca drug cartels have concerns most the United States Government, as the drug empire's influence has begun to spread beyond Bolivia and reaches the United States.

As a response to this threat, the US Government has decided to dispatch an elite team of special operations unit called "the Ghosts" to destroy the Bolivian drug cartel.

As reported earlier by IGN, "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will start hitting PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 7, 2017.In addition to the beta version, a new trailer of the shooter game has also been released to the public yesterday.
