With the world turning its head on Nintendo's upcoming hybrid console, Nintendo Switch, the company's game changing console is expected to deliver solid consumer interest through its portability and performance. Now, tech companies' executives have their eyes on what could be the console's future in terms of acceptability and innovation.

On a GameStop's recent financial conference call, CEO Paul Raines addressed interesting and encouraging things about Nintendo's upcoming Switch. Raines talked about the future of video gaming and opportunities for GameStop, while expanding on Switch's enormous potential in expanding the gaming audience due to its IP's, design and portability, WCCFTech reported.

"We are cautiously optimistic on the future video gaming. The arrival of virtual reality in larger qualities creates an opportunity for us," Raines said.

Raines further on the console's "movement-related games" and Switch's removable controllers, popularly known as Joy-Con, which should embrace great potential for unique gameplay possibilities.

On the other hand, Nvidia's CEO Jen-Hsun Huang stressed how the particular machine from Nintendo is a remarkable design, while promoting portability and transformability in a single build.

"In the case of Switch, it's such a ground-breaking design. Performance matters, because games are built on great performance, but form factor and energy efficiency matter it is incredible, because they want to build something that's portable and transformable," Huang said.

According to DigitalTrends, the Nintendo Switch will be a "hybrid" console that can be used at home on a TV, and also as a portable console similar to Nintendo's Game Boy and DS lines.

At home, the two sides of the device, tagged as "Joy-Con" controllers, slide off of the console and connect into a holster called the Joy-Con Grip to make the Switch a home-friendly console. The console's center clicks into a base station, which connects to a TV or monitor.

Nintendo's new console is considered to be a revolutionary addition to the gaming world as players can continue playing whatever video game they are enjoying outside their homes by simply snapping the Joy-Con controllers onto the sides of the Switch and lifting it out of the dock.

According to rumors, the console will be launched on Friday, March 17 in Europe and between the fifth and the 12th of the same month in North America; however, Nintendo's schedule of release will be revealed on Jan. 12 during company's presentation.
