"House of Cards" Season 5 is reportedly slated to change its plot line in accordance with the recent triumph of Donald Trump. It is said that a new actor will come into "House of Cards" Season 5 as Trump to be Frank's greatest rival. The rumor mill also claims that the "House of Cards" Season 5 will be airing on Netflix in 2017 with focus on the rise to the presidency of the Vice President, Claire Underwood.

Rumor has it that the upcoming "House of Cards" Season 5 will focus on Robin Wright's character Claire Underwood who will rise to the power of Vice President. It is said that the new showrunner aims to mirror the events of real-life American politics in the "House of Cards" Season 5 time frame. Apparently, "House of Cards" Season 5 may have Hillary Clinton winning the US presidency, FabNewz reported.

However, Trump has widely been known to have won the recent US elections for Presidency held on Nov. 8. Hence, it is speculated that "House of Cards" Season 5 may shift its plotline to align the series to the current political situation in the US. Hence, Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, may stay in power and plot to exterminate the threat to his position posed by the new Vice President and his wife.

Meanwhile, a new character is slated to come into "House of Cards" Season 5 to be likened to Trump. If true, the new Trump is expected to be Frank's greatest adversary. Frank has been planning to run for another presidential term. "House of Cards" Season 5 may see Frank strongly competing with the new character likened to the Hillary Clinton and Trump presidential race.

"House of Cards" Season 5 is also rumored to see Frank competing with the new showrunners, Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott. Netflix is yet to confirm the "House of Cards" Season 5 rumors. Moreover, there is reportedly no official statement about the show's release date.
