Featured heavily in the video launch of the Nintendo Switch, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" may not be available to be launched alongside the Nintendo Switch in March 2017.

Sources close to Nintendo detailed the game's current status of development tallied with information provided by a tipster/blogger named Emily Roger. The problem stems from the current localization of the game, in which Roger said will continue until the end of 2016. Add to that, four to six months of game testing will be done, according to Eurogamer.

If this rumor pushes through, that would push the game release of "Zelda" to around mid-2017. To put it in perspective, Nintendo never announced the game would be released alongside the Nintendo Switch in March.

The Nintendo Switch trailer did show several other games played on the device, however, the question lies, what game title will now be pushed alongside the new hybrid platform? Eurogamer said they have information that says the new console's Mario will be ready in time to fill the role.

According to Roger's blog, more sources have come forward to corroborate her information. According to her, "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is one of Nintendo's largest and most ambitious games. She added, the amount of testing required for a huge open-world game is enormous just to and have the game be as bug-free as possible.

Roger's also said the enormity of the game may have been too much. If this were proven to be true, then the localization of "Zelda" would be just part of the problem. The bigger part would be the testing of the game. We have to state though that this is so far, just a rumor.

More details about the Nintendo Switch and probably "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be available in the Hybrid console's formal launch in January.
