Fans of "Legends of Tomorrow" will surely be excited to know that Lance Henriksen will be joining the series as the Bishop. 

Henriksen, 76, is best known for his Bishop role in the wildly successful "Alien" franchise. Among many others, other notable acting credits include "The Terminator," "Millennium" and "Near Dark." In the upcoming second season of "Legends of Tomorrow," he will play as the older version Obsidian or Todd Rice in the series. He is set to make his first appearance during the fifth episode entitled Compromised. Executive producers confirmed that the series' JSA will be set in 1980's - a World War II era team of heroes.

In the comic book, Obsidian is known as the son of the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott. He has the ability to fuse with his own shadow, as well as possessing other people's shadow. He is able to fly and pass through solid objects. Obsidian was created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway and made his first appearance in 1983's "All-Star Squadron" #25, Cosmic Book News reported.

Obsidian is typically one of the younger members of JSA and the show's decision to cast an older actor for the role could indicate that the Legends will only be meeting him either in the present-day or in the future. With Henriksen's role as older Obsidian, he will be introduced as part of Justice Society of America (JSA), whose members also include Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), Henry Heywood, Sr./Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull), Amaya Jiwe/Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Dr. Mid-Nite, who has yet to be cast, Comicbook reported.

Furthermore, in an interview last May with Variety, actor John Wesley hinted that his new "The Flash" character - Jay Garrick - is also part of JSA. So technically, there's more to the cast addition - if not one or two.

 "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
