iPad Air is iPad Mini's bigger version with also the same Retina display and hardware.  The predecessor was launched in 2013, the device sports a bigger display compared to that of the iPad mini, including some new features.

The iPad Air is considered as the regeneration of iPad Mini that features a 9.7-inch IPS LCD display, which includes a scratch resistant glass with an oleophobic coating. The previous iPad mini model has a smaller display and no scratch-resistant glass feature on the display.

In addition to this, the new version of iPad Air performs on an Apple A9 Chip with 1.3 Dual-core processor, along with 1GB of RAM. On the other hand, the previous model of iPad mini works with the features of Apple A5 Chip with a 1.0GHz Dual-core processor, along with a 512MB of RAM, which some tech experts believe is not that impressive.

iPad Air is expected to perform much better given the current version's specs. With the battery features of a larger capacity - 8600 mAh, the notable difference between the two iPads seems apparent, given the fact that the previous generation of iPad mini only has 4490 mAh of battery, News Maritime reported.

Meanwhile, iPad Air 3 is reportedly arriving in 2017 and may likely come with a 3D Touch and a dual-camera set-up, including other amazing features. Currently, there are rumors suggesting that the iPad Air 2, which was released in October 2014, is going to be followed by another impressive device from Apple.

Aside from that, the rumored tablet is believed to feature a 9.7-inch 4K display as well as the latest A 10 processor. In terms of size, the tablet is expected to 5 millimeters thick, which is more sleek compared to the previous iPad Air 2.
