Apple recently released the second beta version of iOS 10.2, an update that introduces several important features and improvements to the company's mobile operating system, for its iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch units.

iOS 10.2 Beta 2 Updates, Improvements, Inclusion

According to 9to5 Mac, some of the initial changes discovered in iOS 10.2 beta are as follows: three new wallpapers in iOS 10.2 beta (only for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus), new widget for Videos app, new Preserve Camera setting, new emojis, new 'Press and Hold to Speak' menu under Home Button Accessibility settings, new 'Celebration' Messages screen effect, new 'Show Star Ratings' option under Music Settings, and new headphone icon in status bar for Bluetooth audio devices (previously seen with the Beats Solo3).

The new beta version includes Unicode 9.0 emoji support, which matches compatibility in beta versions of iOS 10.2 and watchOS 3.1.1. Some of the new emojis include clown face, drooling face, selfie, fox face, owl, shark, butterfly, avocado, pancakes, croissant, among others. (9to5 Mac)

iOS 10.2 Beta 2 Camera Setting Improvements

In addition, the new camera setting will let users preserve the last Camera Mode, Photo Filter, or Live Photo setting. "Preserve Settings" is available in the Settings App under "Photos & Camera."

The video widget added can be accessed on the widgets panel by swiping to the right on the Home screen of an iPhone or iPad. The Videos widget displays movies and TV shows in the Videos app, and a tap will cause content to play automatically.

iOS 10.2 Beta 2 New App Features

According to TechTimes, the biggest addition to the second beta of iOS 10.2 is the new TV app for the iPhone, which is Apple's platform for online video. Through the app, users can browse through all TV shows, movies and videos hosted online through various platforms, though Netflix content is notably excluded.

The second beta version also adds a new SOS function, which automatically connects the iOS device with emergency services after five presses on the home button, with the feature to be made available in select countries. More so, a popup notification shows up when users open the Health app after installing iOS 10.2.

iOS 10.2 Beta 2 Installation Without Developer Account

On the other hand, methods to install the second beta of iOS 10.2 without a developer account were released online through a certain YouTube user named as iCrackUriDevice. The video shows that users do not even need to connect their iPhone or iPad to a computer.

The process details that users will have to first install the developer beta profile of Apple. The new beta version will automatically be available as an over-the-air update after the installation.
