American television journalist and the popular host of the "TODAY Show," Matt Lauer, is teaming up with Shinola for a fashionable but educational statement.

But Lauer is not modeling any clothing line. Since Shinola is known for its fashionable watches, leather products and journals, Lauer is lending his ideas to create a five piece collection for his TODAY's Original Product.

His five piece collection includes a boxed card set that is perfect for handwritten notes, a planner, paper back journals, nylon straps for watches and a leather passport wallet. As to why he chose these products, the TV host explained that he loves to get mail. In today's time, he might be labeled as old fashioned but this celebrity likes to hold on to something that does not beep or send you an emoji. Every morning, Matt would open his leather-bound planner to see what he needs to accomplish for the day.

To make the products more special, they are inscribed with the number "20" which signified Matt Lauer's 20^th anniversary on the "TODAY Show" this coming January 6, 2017.

Clearly, Lauer appreciates actual paper and the effort it took to make the note. His decision to partner with Shinola, a Detroit-based lifestyle brand, will go to a good cause. He describes Shinola as a company that features products which are modern and current but still retains a traditional twist. Proceeds from the TODAY's Original line will directly go to the Detroit Children's Fund which will benefit the Detroit Edison Public School Academy.

The DEPSA is being run by The New Paradigm for Education. Their mission is to provide education to the kids of Detroit that would pave the way for success in highschool and college.
