Aiming to help in training the next generation workforce by having an access to industry software utilized by high tech manufacturer, Clemson University has received the largest-grant-in-kind from Siemens, a global technology company.

Students will now have an access to the software that will be incorporated into student coursework and projects. These school works can be computer-aided-design, digital manufacturing, engineering simulation, industrial design, and manufacturing management in Clemson's College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. For the advanced manufacturing industry, Clemson is preparing a highly-skilled SEM workforce by providing the students with hands-on experience with the software in their academic programs. This academic partnership will help in producing workforce equipped with the ability and skills for the high-tech jobs in the future, as reported by Bloomberg.

Clemson President James P. Clements shared that they are grateful to Siemens for giving the grant to their University. According to him, that with this student focused grant they are looking forward to build their innovative partnership in the future.

The Siemens product lifecycle management (PLM) software will be accessible to Clemson students through the in-kind investment. Siemens PLM is used by more than 140,000 companies in manufacturing industry across the globe to develop sophisticated products in different industries including aerospace, automotive, high-tech electronics, medical devices and many more.

According to Eric Spiegel, president & CEO of Siemens USA, through this largest in-kind grant in their University's history, they felt honored to empower the future generation of the digital talent at Clemson University.

This PLM software bundle including Siemens' Femap^TM software, Fibersim^TM portfolio, LMS^TM software, NX^TM software, and Tecnomatix® portfolio, is designed to be beneficial to both students of undergraduate and graduate levels in the university's College of Engineering and Computing and Applied Sciences. The junior and senior level classes in bioengineering and mechanical engineering departments as well as competitive teams at Clemson like the Formula SAE will be using this software. At the graduate level, the automotive engineering department will be utilizing the software.

With the University's dedication to innovation and technology, it is considered as an ideal recipient for the in-kind software grand.
