Learning disabilities, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia, greatly affect how students learn. And for parents of children who have such disabilities, the concern goes beyond how their child learns - it also includes how they will be able to pay for college tuition fees.

Students with learning disabilities are able to achieve great feats when they are given the right kind of support, Sheldon H. Horowitz, Ed.D., Director of LD Resources at the National Center for Learning Disabilities, said.

"Learning disabilities are not a prescription for failure," Horowitz said. "With the right kinds of instruction, guidance and support, there are no limits to what individuals with LD can achieve."

College education, however, doesn't just require that a student be able to learn and perform well. It also requires enough funding. There are currently 2.4 million students that are diagnosed with learning disabilities, all of which are receiving special education services from birth until high school thanks to the Individuals and Disabilities Education Act, the Mansfield News Journal reported. However, when these students desire to proceed to college, they'll need help as well.

Thankfully, there are several college scholarships that students with learning disabilities can apply for, reports TIME. These scholarships cater to different disabilities, and provide various amounts to help in meeting financial needs. Here are some of them:

• National Center for Learning Disabilities. Grants up to $10,000. Deadline for application is Nov. 13, 2016.
• Marion Huber Learning Through Listening Awards. Grants up to $6,000. Expected deadline: March, 2017.
• Morelli Scholarship. Grants up to $1,000. Expected deadline March 2017.
• Smart Kids With Learning Disabilities. $1,000. Deadline Dec. 31, 2016.

For those with specific disabilities:

• Michael Yasick ADHD Scholarship. (ADHD) $2,000. Expected deadline March 2017.
• Feldman Royle Law Firm. (Autism) $1,000. Deadline Nov. 7, 2016.
• Rise Scholarship. (Learning disability other than ADD or ADHD.) Must have a GPA of at least 2.5. $2,500. Deadline Jan. 31, 2017.
• P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship. (Dyslexia or language learning disability.) Grants up to $4,000 for a student who has financial need and is pursuing visual arts. Expected deadline March, 2017
