College is not only a time for studying your course majors and getting your degree. It is also a time to expose college and university students to the type of industries they are entering. It is also a time to introduce yourself to potential employers.

Which is why the Kean community is taking the next career steps for its students. An internship and job fair is coming. Last year, students were treated to companies such as Disney, New York Life, iHeart Media, Six Flags Great Adventure, BMW, Wakefern Food Corporation, and more. And they were able to land internships from these well-known companies, cites Cougarsbyte.

This time, over thirty companies are coming. Expect companies like Fastenal, Wegmans, Bed Bath & Beyond, Enterprise, local law enforcement, government offices, Homeland Security and more. The Office of Internships' aim is to cover many career fields and industries as possible. The Office of Internships from the College of Business and Public Management, is holding the internship and job fair on Nov. 17, 2016, on Thursday. This is the second event since they started last year.

Students can land a successful internship gig or a career at the Business Internship Fair when they enter the second and third floors of the Green Lane Academic Building between 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It is also interesting to note that most internships are paid and available for college credit for the spring and summer of 2017.

Students are encouraged to grab this opportunity and are advised to dress professionally. It is also advisable to bring many of copies of their updated resumes. JoAnne Beiter, the Director of Office of Internships suggests that the students prepare a one to two minute "pitch" of themselves when meeting companies. For students who need help and guidance on their resume, they can proceed to the Office of Internships. Students are encouraged to visit GLAB room 243, Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

For more questions or concerns, you can contact the Office of Internships through email at internship@kean.edu or call 908-737-4706.
