Since the announcement of the upcoming "Fallout 4" Playstation 4 mods, players have been excited about the endless possibilities modding will create for the game. Prior to this announcement, players have been limited to mods created via the "Fallout 4" PC version.

However, there seems to be issues in the limitations allowed for creating "Fallout 4" PS4 mods. Sony and Bethesda haven't settled on several disparate issues regarding modding on the popular video game, such as internal memory storage and useable assets in the game. Will Bethesda and Sony reconcile these differences?

Restrictions imposed by Sony

One of the biggest issues regarding the creation of "Fallout 4" PS4 mods is that Sony wouldn't allow user modding the way they should be working in the first place, as they do on most platforms. One of these limitations is that players can't use outside assets on the creation of "Fallout 4" PS4 mods. Moreover, Sony's consoles only allowed 1GB for mod storage spaces, in stark contrast with XBox One's 5GB.

However, Bethesda has been promising to come up with alternatives and solutions to the limitations imposed by Sony. The Wolfhall reported that Bethesda studio marketing vice president Peter Hines has been promising to resolve these issues to bring modding to "Fallout 4" PS4 players. He's also making the case for mods on Sony to function the same way they do on XBox One and PC.

Release date for 'Fallout 4' PS4 mods

Express.co reported that Bethesda and Sony will be releasing "Fallout 4" PS4 mods as soon as "The Elder Scrolls of Skyrim: Special Edition" launched. However, since the latter's launch, the promised mods are nowhere to be found. Peter Hines, however, assured fans that the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods will arrive as soon as they finalize plans and modding issues with Sony and the studio.

Stay tuned for more updates on the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods.
