Looks like PC gamers may finally have something to cheer about as the original "Red Dead Redemption" will soon be playable on PS4 and PC, thanks to the magic of PlayStation Now.

Rockstar Games have not ceased redefining the concept of open worlds. From the fan-favorite "Grand Theft Auto" series, the schoolyard comedy Bully, the Midnight Club racing games to the hit "Red Dead Redemption." Now, rolling off the success of 2013's "Grand Theft Auto V," Rockstar is set to sweep gamers off their feet once again with "Red Dead Redemption 2," the latest installment in the "Red Dead" series.

Meanwhile, "Red Dead Redemption" will be made available via the subscription service in near future, PlayStation Brand Marketing vice president John Koller announced on PlayStation Blog on Thursday, Oct. 20.

Designed exclusively to take optimum advantage of PS4, "Red Dead Redemption 2" centers on life in the unforgiving heartland of America. The upcoming game's atmospheric world will offer the base for an all-new online multiplayer experience. Moreover, PS4 players will get first access to earn exclusive online content in the far-flung open world of "RDR 2."

Back in July, "Red Dead Redemption" was launched as Xbox One backwards compatible title, and it included most of its DLC for free. One month later, the ability to stream PlayStation Games to PC via PlayStation Now was announced. Technically, this means gamers can play "Red Dead Redemption" on their PC, although Rockstar has never released the game for the platform, according to VG 24/7.

According to strong rumors doing rounds online, the highly anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" is actually a prequel and not a sequel. The recently released "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer, however, does not provide any details regarding on this.

It's worth noting that several sources still claim that although "Red Dead Redemption 2" will hit the stores in autumn 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One, Rockstar will ditch the PC platform. The speculation stems from the fact that the previous game was a console-exclusive as well.
