Senator Mike Enzi has announced that he will be receiving applications from college students and graduates from all backgrounds for a spring internship in his Washington, D.C. office. Deadline for applications will be next month, on Nov. 4.

"An internship in my office is rich with opportunity and provides students with firsthand knowledge and experience," the U.S. senator said. "Interns are an important part of the office. They also have the chance to meet some remarkable people, work on projects and experience the dynamic of living in Washington, D.C."

The internship program will include hands-on, individualized activities that offer experience in the government. Interns will be able to network, develop vital job skills as well as gain meaningful experiences that will help their academic and career goals.

Interns for Senator Enzi will also have the opportunity to lead U.S. Capitol Building tours, write summaries for policies and hearings, prepare legislative memos, conduct research for legislative aides, witness floor proceedings as well as attend committee hearings and lectures. They will receive a monthly allowance to keep up with the living costs in Washington, D.C. Interns are also able to coordinate with receiving college credit for the internship. Students from Wyoming are given top priority.

"Internships are a long-standing tradition on Capitol Hill and interns provide a valuable service to Senators, their staff and the citizens of their state," U.S. Senator Mike Enzi wrote on his official website. "An internship in Washington, D.C. provides students with many practical and educational opportunities to participate in the daily operation of a Senate office and to observe first-hand how the legislative process works."

Senator Enzi's spring 2017 internship will run from Jan. 4 to May 26. Applicants are required to have achieved at least a sophomore status at an accredited university or college. Students can apply online. They can also contact the Internship Coordinator Kendyll Ferrall at (202) 224-3424 or Intern_Coordinator@enzi.senate.gov.
