Looks like a good news for those waiting with bated breath for Apple to shed more light on the MacBook Air 2016 release date as a much more specific date has been designated.

It was reported that the MacBook Air 2016 will be launched alongside the new MacBook Pro late October. Now, The Apple Post senior editor Tom Skyes confirmed the MacBook Air 2016 release date as Monday, October 24. Although Skyes cited multiples sources to uphold his claim, not everyone seems to be convinced, and here's why.

If Apple's release history is anything to go by, a launch event slated to take place on a Monday is quite inconceivable, 9To5Mac reported. According to the site, sometime around the aforesaid date seems more likely than not.

An October release date, however, seems probable not only because Apple would prefer to follow its release pattern for new products, but also because the company wants all its new products out in time for holiday shopping that begins this November.

It can be recalled that the MacBook Air 2016 was expected to hit the stores alongside the equally anticipated MacBook Pro and the iMac as well as a 5K standalone display sometime this month. The speculation coincides with what IHS Markit Technology claims will be the timing of the much awaited launch, Forbes reported.

Other reports went more specific claiming that a launch event is slated to take place during the second half of October. But the publication only mentioned of the new MacBook Pro but this could also be the launch schedule for the MacBook Air 2016 since it is said to be released alongside the Pro.

MacBook Air 2016 Specs

The next-generation MacBook Air will boast a multi-functional USB-C port technology, and will be powered by an Intel Skylake rather than the newer Kaby Lake bearing in mind the early production of the laptop. In terms of display, there's hearsay that the device will come with 13.3-inch display just like its precursors.
