Chris Boyd and two other Vanderbilt football teammates were indicted on charges relating to the rape investigation ongoing since late June involving an unconscious 21-year-old female student, the Tennessean reported.

Chris Boyd, charged with one felony count of accessory to rape after the fact, turned himself in to police Saturday and was released on $25,000 bail. He was arrested for giving advice to another defendant indicted last week on rape charges.

Miles Joseph Finley, 19, of Bermuda Dunes, Calif., and Joseph Dominick Quinzio, 20, of Palm Desert, Calif., were both charged with tampering with evidence.

The three most recently indicted were high school teammates of Brandon Vandenburg, one of four former Vanderbilt football players charged with aggravated rape last week. According to the indictment, Boyd helped Vandenburg try to cover up the evidence three days after the incident. The other two also tampered with evidence between June 23 and July 29.

"Today's indictment reflects the hundreds of law enforcement hours that have gone into this case thus far, and the absolute seriousness of this entire matter," Chief of Police Steve Anderson said in a statement.  "I also reiterate that this investigation, as District Attorney General Torry Johnson said last week, remains open and active.  We are looking at all persons who may have been involved in this event, before, during and after the fact.  Additional charges cannot be ruled out."

Finley and Qunizio were arrested Friday in Riverside County, Calif.

Vandenburg, 20, of Indio, Calif.; Cory Batey, 19, of Nashville; Brandon Banks, 19, of Brandywine, Md.; and Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie, 19, of Woodville, Miss. were the four former football players originally suspended and indicted for rape. They were each charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Batey, Vandenburg and Banks will be arraigned later this week, but McKenzie, who received a lower bond, has already pleaded not guilty and will skip the court appearance.

Police spokesman Don Aaron previously stated the rape most likely took place in Vandenburg's dorm. Vandenburg was also charged with unlawful photography and tampering with evidence.
