Asus Zenfone 3 and Xiaomi Redmi 3S pack a different specification set. How about the gaming performance?

Zenfone 3 has flooded the market and it has been a pretty good month for the smartphone sales. This Asus device is a 5.5-inch smartphone with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with ZenUI interface. Under the hood, there is Snapdragon 625, octa-core processor and Android Marshmallow as the OS, GSM Arena wrote. The lowest variant of the Zenfone 3 packs 64 GB internal memory and 4GB RAM. The storage is expandable using MicroSD card.

Asus equips the Zenfone 3 with superb features for gaming and photography. It plays heavy graphics game without any considerable heating problem. In the audio department, it is capable of shooting 4K videos. The optics pair 16 MP rear camera (OIS, laser autofocus and dual LED flash) with 8 MP front shooter. Both offers good image quality especially in a low-light condition. Users can also capture in balance given its OIS technology that ensures a steady shot.

For a faster charging, Zenfone 3 is equipped with 3,000 mAh battery. This is an average capacity for moderate usage such as chatting via Whatsapp, video streaming and browsing the web. And judging from the Snapdargo 625 processor, it packs big.LITTLE technology that is able to switch sides - for instance, increase performance when playing game or decrease the core performance when used for checking email. Asus Zenfone 3 offers the smart features in a smartphone that users could wish for: the beauty and power.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime specs review

Just like Zenfone 3, Redmi 3S Prime accepts dual SIM cards. It's got a more compact size with 5 inch screen. When it comes to display, it has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. Redmi 3S Prime uses MIUI 8 interface.

Weighing just 144 grams, Redmi 3S Prime runs Android Marshmallow OS with octa-core Snapdragon 430 as the processor.

It pairs 32 GB of internal storage with 4 GB of RAM. The drawback of the phone would be the absence of dedicated slot as it uses SIM-2 for the memory expansion.

The camera department is a few steps behind the Zenfone 3. Pairing the 13 MP rear camera with 5 MP of front camera - Redmi 3S Prime optics lack of OIS for steady shots. And it is also a little slower than Zenfone 3 camera, when focusing to an object.

The sensors featured in Redmi 3S Prime is the same as the ones in Zenfone 3: Fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Apparently Xiaomi's handset still uses Micro USB instead of USB type C port available in Zenfone 3. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime packs 4,100 mAh battery with fast charging feature.

Asus Zenfone 3 or Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime?

From the specification, it can be argued that Zenfone 3 packs more punch when it comes to casual gaming. It also offers better camera quality. For a more premium alternative to Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, users can go for Redmi Note 3 or higher end of Zenfone 3 family, Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
