Although Marvel's third "Thor" standalone film entitled, "Thor: Ragnarok" is more than a year away, fans are being kept both satisfied and excited with every casting announcement that Marvel is releasing. With that, the recent addition of talent such as Sam Neill is no exception.

Well-known for playing the role of Alan Grant in the first "Jurassic Park" film, according to Den of Geek, Neill confirmed that he is set to appear in Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok." The film will be directed by Taika Waititi, known for helming such films as "What We Do In The Shadows" and "Hunt for the Wilderpeople."

Waititi is known to have worked with Neill before in "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" which fans have surmised to be the reason for Waititi involving him in "Ragnarok."

"Thor: Ragnarok" is currently in filming, and in an interview with Shortlist, he reveals that he is not permitted to make public what role he will play in the upcoming Marvel film. The secrecy may be much ado about nothing, but The Hollywood Reporter tells about Neill joking that if he reveals anything about his upcoming role in Ragnarok, Marvel's secret agents would come after him and his family. So, the revelation of his role could be a huge spoiler.

However, Neill's involvement in "Thor: Ragnarok" marks his reunion with fellow "Jurassic Park" actor Jeff Goldblum. Goldblum has been cast to play the role of the Grandmaster, a cosmic entity with a preference for gambling.

The Grandmaster has been known to to manipulate superheroes into participating in his games, and known for being a part of the Elders of the Universe - with every member a lone survivor of their race, and have the responsibility of passing judgement on major events that happen in the Marvel Universe. Goldblum's role could very much carry into Marvel's highly-anticipated superhero epic, "Avengers: Infinity War."
