Google is all set to launch its new Pixel phones, Pixel and Pixel XL, on October 4. But the case makers have already started selling the cases for the search giant's next flagship phones without even waiting for the official announcement.

The case makers have reportedly started selling cases for the highly anticipated Pixel phones - that replaces the Nexus phones starting this year onwards - on several e-commerce websites including Amazon, and in the process ended up revealing the designs of both the devices.

The Pixel and Pixel XL seems to be exact counterpart of the blurry images that have been doing rounds online. Both the devices sport designs that resemble the iPhone 6, and the HTC One A9, housed in aluminium bodies and sporting unduly rounded edges. Moreover, the imminent smartphones sport slightly tapered edges that give them a slicker and more premium appearance as compared to a few other phones that feature similar design, according to reports on IndiaToday.

Google's upcoming pure Android-based smartphones sport a design that's likely to garner mixed reactions from consumers. In other words, while some users will love the design, others may not be quite thrilled about it. Some buyers may revel in the iPhone-like design, but some may find it to be out of style, with thick bezels that no phones releasing in 2016 feature.

Largely identical to several other phones in the market, the Pixel and Pixel XL do sport a few exclusive elements. For instance, both phones feature a layer of glass on the top portion of their back cover and just like the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, the impending smartphones will come with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Overall, the Pixel and Pixel XL seem to sport same design, apart from the size.

Google Pixel And Pixel XL Release Date

Google's much awaited Android devices, the Pixel and Pixel XL will be announced on October 4 at an event in San Francisco.

Google Pixel And Pixel XL Cost

Pixel branded smartphone is likely to hit the store shelves with a slightly higher pricing. Google announced its flagship Nexus 6P last year at a starting price of $499, and if rumors proved to be true, the price could be quite higher this time.

Google Pixel XL Spotted On Geekbench

The Pixel and Pixel XL (previously dubbed as Nexus Sailfish and Marlin) have been surfacing on benchmark sites in various forms, but mostly under the now-ditched, Nexus brand. It seems that only recently the Nexus Marlin was spotted on Geekbench under its new moniker, Pixel XL, Softpedia reported.

Rolan Quandt (@rquandt) discovered the benchmark listing revealing that the Pixel XL variant will run on Android 7.1 Nougat and will be powered by an octa-core processor from Qualcomm clocked at 1.59GHz.

The Pixel XL scored 4176 points in the multi-core test and 1561 points in the single-core test.
