If you have seen the hit fictional television series "True Blood," then you are familiar with Anna Paquin. Paquin plays the role of a vampire's girlfriend in the thrilling HBO series.

But behind the southern accent, she is actually a Columbia student. But she didn't finish her degree, cites KR CR Tv.

Born in 1982, Paquin started her education at Hutt Intermediate School. She was born in Canada but grew up in New Zealand. But she was only able to attend Hutt Intermediate School between 1994 and 1995. She also attended the Wellington Girls' College in New Zealand. At Wellington Girl's College, she received her secondary education. But she moved to Los Angeles and studied at Windward School. From there, she completed her high school diploma. Later on, she enrolled at Columbia University. However, she was only able to complete a year's worth of studies before dropping out. She wanted to focus on her acting career.

At an early age, she beat thousands of candidates for a role in Jane Campion's "The Piano." And it is worth mentioning that she has had little to no experience when it comes to acting.

Her performance from "The Piano" earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. And she was only 11 years old at the time. Which meant that she squeezes in acting in between her education. Her childhood was full of music. She attended the Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School as well. She took musical training when she was eight years old. She also knew and learned how to play viola, the piano and the cello. But she also managed to squeeze in some ballet, gymnastics, downhill skiing and swimming. If you have noticed, she didn't consider acting or theater performance as a hobby.

Her only acting experience was being a skunk in a school play. But Anna Paquin went on to get nominated and win several awards. It is not known if she wishes to return to Columbia to finish her studies.
