Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime specs review: Design, software and hardware

Galaxy J7 Prime specs are very similar to the Galaxy J7. There are differences however, in terms of thickness. Samsung designs Galaxy J7 slightly slimmer than the J7 Prime. The design feels premium, with full-metal body.

The 5.5 inch Dual SIM smartphone offers 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 401 ppi pixel density - protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, as listed in GSM Arena. Galaxy J7 Prime does not get to taste AMOLED display but it's a sharp and vivid Full HD IPS. It's got a good viewing angle.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Exynos 7870 octa with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The optics get 13 MP of rear camera (autofocus, dual LED flash) and 8 MP of front shooter. Finally, Samsung equips a Galaxy J phone with fingerprint sensor. The battery packs removable 3,300 mAh capacity. There is no fast charging feature but at least Samsung allows battery backup for the phone.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is priced around $282

Samsung Galaxy C7 specs review: Design, software and hardware

There is a huge pricing gap between Galaxy C7 and Galaxy J7 Prime. The C7 is priced around $397.

The screen is already an AMOLED display but minus Corning Gorilla Glass. It's a 5.7 inch smartphone with the same resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels and 386 ppi pixel density.

Under the hood, the Android Marshmallow is paired with octa-core, Snapdragon 625. It has 4 GB of RAM with either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. Apparently, users will have to place the MicroSD card in its second SIM card slot for memory expansion.

The optics come with higher specs compared to the one in Galaxy J7 Prime. Galaxy C7 gets 16 MP of rear camera and 8 MP of front camera. It has fingerprint sensor, very responsive, to unlock the phone. However, the 3,300 mAh battery is non-removable but it comes with fast-charging feature.

The biggest thing to consider about both smartphones is the pricetag. The $115 more expensive phone packs higher specs than the Galaxy J7 Prime. The J7 Prime may have a slower performance but the lag is not a significant issue as it is able to do multi-tasking jobs without any issue. The J7 Prime's processor works great for gaming although the C7 is an excellent performer, too.
