iOS 10 is expected to be available to the public on Sept. 14 just before the iPhone 7 lineup deploys. The software update is reportedly coming to iPhone 5 handsets, iPad mini 2, iPad 4, and iPad Air as well. Previously released Apple devices will also experience the improved phone lock feature, customizable widgets, a Siri boost, interactive iMessage and Apple Music and Photos makeover.

iOS 10 is suggested to change the way users open their device. Apple devices on iOS 10 could automatically light up by merely picking up the device. The new feature causes the lock screen to light up and shows notifications, calendar appointments, weather information and news updates, Telegraph reported.

Moreover, the refreshed opening screen will no longer feature the "Swipe to unlock" option. iOS 10 is suggested to make unlocking the device easier simply by pressing the home button. Furthermore, the device can be unlocked with Touch ID or a passcode if the user is on iPhone 5.

Another feature that is expected to be carried by iOS 10 is the customizable widgets with extra information from the app. This is suggested to be useful in checking things such as calendar appointments and weather information just by swiping left from the lock screen, Business Insider reported.

iOS 10 is also believed to bring in a boost to Apple's Siri. Siri is now rumored to be open to third party developers. This could mean that users can now utilize Siri with some apps such as booking an Uber or ordering a Domino's.

iMessage, on the other hand, is also being opened to third party developers brought by iOS 10. This means that Apple's messaging service can now be used to order food, shop, book tickets and send money within a chat.

iOS 10 is also set to give Apple Music and Photos a makeover. Apple's Music is reportedly getting a complete rework from the bottom up.
