Success can mean different things for different people. Moreover, there are different ways to achieve success - some are able to reach their dreams early in life, while some take on the slow and difficult path.

Business Insider shared part of the stories of highly-successful people and what they were doing when they were 25 years old. The list included icons such as Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, Hollywood movie star Jennifer Lawrence as well as the 2016 U.S. presidential aspirants Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

1. Steve Jobs

At 25 years old, the Apple founder Steve Jobs already took his company public and quickly became a millionaire. Back in Dec. 1980, Apple Computer already had a market value of $1.2 billion.

2. Richard Branson

Sir Richard Branson opened his first record shop when he was 20 years old. He followed it up with a studio at 22 and launched the label at 23. By the time he was 30 years old, his company had gained worldwide fame. "Building a business from scratch is 24 hours, 7 days a week, divorces," he told Entrepreneur. "It's difficult to hold your family life together; it's bloody hard work and only one word really matters - and that's surviving."

3. Arianna Huffington

Formerly known as Arianna Stassinopolous, the Huffington Post boss fell in love with famed British journalist Henry Bernard Levin at 21 years old. In the years that followed, she would be mentored by her lover on her book, "The Female Woman," which attacked the women's liberation movement. It was published when she was 23 years old. She then moved to New York City at 30.

4. Jennifer Lawrence

The "Hunger Games" star had already become Hollywood's highest-paid actress a year after turning 25. She took home $46 million pretax over 12 months this year. The figure was closer to $52 million last year. She has also earned many awards for her work.

5. Donald Trump

The 2016 presidential candidate was given control of his father's company, Elizabeth Trump & Son, at 25. He later renamed it to the Trump Organization. This started his dominance in the real estate industry.

6. Hillary Clinton

She received her law degree just before she turned 25, in 1973. Later that year, she began working at the Yale Child Study Center and her first scholarly article, "Children Under the Law," was published in the Harvard Educational Review.
